Job Description

Site Control of Work Co-ordinatorMy client is is a leading large scale chemical company and currently have a vacancy for a site Control of Work Co-ordinator based in Norwich. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with effective communication and interpersonal skills.The role of site Control of Work Co-ordinator involves a wide range of tasks that include:

  • Prepare, co-ordinate and authorise the Control of Work activities for scheduled engineering/ non-production activities. Tasks may be within the operational plants, infrastructure or utilities.
  • Provide Control of Work expertise to the engineering planning team (for planned work and shutdown activities as requested); and to the operations teams tasked with the preparation and execution of decontamination schedules.
  • To provide effect handover (written and verbal) on the state of works (complete and in progress) at the end of each work period within the designated area of responsibility to all parties concerned e.g. to Shutdown Managers, Operations Teams or to members of the Shutdown Control of Work Co-ordination team.
  • To provide point of contact for third party contractor visits.
  • To act as a designated person for the identification, planning and supervision of complicated and complex lifts and to have oversight of contracted out lifts.
  • To act as a designated person for excavations.
  • Attainments / Knowledge required The production schedule is extremely demanding offering both physical and mental challenges. Preference will be given to applicants who are able to demonstrate the following skills
  • Relevant experience in a similar process industry
  • A thorough understanding of Health and Safety practices
  • A thorough understanding of risk assessing in a high hazard environment.
  • A methodical and organised approach to work
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • PC literacy - experience in the use of RAP and GP Dynamics would be advantageous.
  • Additional InformationThe successful candidate will need to demonstrate a flexible approach to work and be committed to achieving high work standards. They will also be required to fulfil an emergency response leadership role (e.g. Site Main Controller, etc.) as requested.This is a full time role - Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. Start & finish times will vary depending on departmental needs.
