Job Description

Sharepoint Consultant, Day Rate, 6 month contractProject SharePoint Consultant

  • Skills and abilities required
    • Passionate and knowledgeable about SharePoint
    • Ability to work with senior managers
    • Ability to convey complete SharePoint terminologies in a simple way to beginners
    • Ability to transfer skills, leaving end users able to do it for themselves (with support from MS learning pathways)
  • Assistance with migration
    • Work with identified business sections to configure and populate their sites (like for like in general, until we have migrated all content away from 2013)
    • Identify and implement quick wins
    • Flag development and enhancement opportunities to be picked up at the end of the project
    • Identify potential SharePoint champions
  • User skills transfer during migration. Ensure key end users understand (where applicable)
    • Modern pages: Creating pages, configuring pages with web parts, tables, images, links etc, Scheduling publication, Page approvals, Setting up News
    • How to amend navigation
    • Following a site
    • Libraries: Uploading files, singly and multiple, Creating new files, File properties, Document versioning, inc. restoring previous, Check in/out and approval, Co-authoring office documents, Using categories and tags rather than folders, Email alerts: Listsand views: Creating, editing and deleting lists, Creating, editing and deleting items, How workflows can be used (end users wont be doing this but need to understand what is possible), Item version control, inc restoring previous, Columns, Filtering and sorting,All about views, Export and import, Email alerts
    • Calendars: Calendar list view, Adding, editing and deleting events
    • Recycle bin
    • Teams: Relationship between teams and SharePoint, how to switch between them, Channels, permissions and files, finding files, permissions, how to give permissions (we will be doing this via teams), Members versus Owners versus Visitors, sharing files anditems (dontuse copy link instead!)
    • How to get help
  • Post migration support
    • Identify learning materials that might be missing
    • Be the go to person for content owners and end users after they have started using their new site
    • Run regular workshops
