• Acting as the client-side project manager to lead an external project team who will scope and deliver a masterplan for the regeneration of a number of sites close to the town centre in Diss.
• Acting as a programme manager by overseeing and coordinating the delivery of a wider programme of projects. These projects will be delivered by other internal client-side project managers.
• Take ownership of projects from feasibility through to project completion which will involve working with internal and external stakeholders and partners, representing the Council as required.
• Commission and work alongside the professional team required to deliver projects.
• Establish realistic yet ambitious timescales for delivery.
• Manage budgets effectively.
• Manage and engage with internal and external stakeholders, as required to deliver the project/s.
• Establish appropriate project governance and adhere to required reporting requirements.
• Manage funding applications and prepare funding claims as required by the project/s.

You must have

• Demonstrated experience of successfully managing multiple complex capital (e.g. infrastructure, land development, construction) projects.
• Educated to degree standard or minimum of 3 years experience at a senior level in a economic development or planning environment, or similar.
• Qualified RICS or CIOB project manager, or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated experience of working collaboratively with external and internal stakeholders and working in a matrices structure.
• Working knowledge of local government project governance requirements, or the demonstrated ability to rapidly acquire and use this knowledge.
• Ability to work collaboratively to reconcile difficult situations, negotiate solutions and achieve a holistic council approach to achieving economic growth.
• This is a hybrid role and office presence will be expected as required by the role.
