Job Description

Process11 Recruitment currently have a very exciting career opportunity for an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, based at our very well respected client in the Norwich area. This position is due to continued growth within our clients R&D Department and we are looking for a dynamic candidate with proven experience (minimum 5 years) within creative Mechanical Design solutions. This is a key role within the organisation where thesuccessful candidate will be supporting the R&D Team with first class engineering design solutions for specialist and highly technical equipment, for use in harsh and challenging environments.   • Experience of 3D CAD design, testing and problem solving.
  • Proficiency in the use of Finite Element Analysis Software ANSYS for structural design
  • Ability to interpret, create and present technical information to audiences with all levels of technical experience.
  • Ability and willingness to understand wider application concepts, and to deliver a holistic design working as part of a multi-disciplined team, as well as on own initiative.
  • General willingness to expand knowledge into new areas and to challenge oneself.
  • Flexible approach in terms of both task delivery and time management.
  • Willingness to perform hands-on tasks including integration activities on prototype equipment.
  • Exceptional mechanical aptitude and a proven track record of delivery of working mechanical structures for customer or internal development purposes.
  • Ability to liaise with supply chain, machinists and fabricators as necessary.
  • Strong aptitude in geometric tolerancing, reduction of stack-up, limits and fits and design of complex assemblies.
  • Proficient in creation and design records, 2D and 3D CAD data, and mechanical assembly procedures.
  • Qualified to Degree Level in Mechanical Engineering/Design (or HND with 5-year+ experience in mechanical design or related field.
