Job Description

Serve Talent are proud to be working exclusively with a successful Oil & Gas and Renewables business who are looking to recruit a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for their facility based in Norwich, Norfolk.This particular business have grown year-on-year consistently and are really looking to press on following the pandemic. Reporting into the Design Manager and working alongside the wider Design Engineering team, youll be responsible for the Mechanical Design& Project Management of various Oil & Gas centric projects.Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Proactively undertake design tasks assigned to you as well as manage these projects from cradle-to-grave.
  • Youll also plan & manage allocated tasks in line with the companies Design Engineering processes.
  • Engage with customers/clients & suppliers where necessary to undertake or deliver work.
  • Using SolidWorks for CAD & ANSYS for FEA, complete various design orientated tasks. Projects will predominantly be large offshore structures.
  • Train and mentor graduate & developing engineers, leading by example whilst ensuring best practise is met.
Some skills youll ideally have:
  • A degree in Mechanical/Structural/Civil Engineering
  • At least 5 years experience working in the Offshore industry.
  • Experience with Structural and Mechanical Design in the Offshore environment.
  • Youll have some experience/knowledge of Hydraulic system design.
  • 3D CAD & FEA/Calculations experience. SolidWorks preferred but other software (Inventor, Creo, NX etc.) considered.
