Job Description

A leading manufacturing business in Norwich are looking to hire an experienced Senior Development Engineer on a full time, permanent basis. Reporting into the Senior Management team, this role will see you taking full responsibility for ensuring all tooling and moulding machines on-site are running efficiently and safely, by providing on-going technical training and advice to various members of the team and wider business.A key part of this role will see you integrating and developing production lines and equipment, as well as providing advanced technical support to the team within the Production facility.Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Integrate & develop production lines and associated equipment.
  • Provide robust technical support, guidance & training to Injection Mould Setters, Operators & Engineers.
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplined team, leading the technical implementation of new projects.
  • Work closely with the Research & Development department, as well as the Manufacturing Teams on tooling, materials & product trials.
  • Provide recommendations on mould machine specifications to improve both quality & output.
  • Write & implement Standard Operating procedures & Safe Working Practices for the Production Cells.
    • In order for your application to be considered, you will need the following:
  • Experience working with Injection Moulding machines and tooling
  • Proven background working as a Development Engineer
  • Technical mechanical and electrical knowledge of pneumatics & hydraulics
  • Appreciation of electrical engineering
  • Hands on practical tooling and engineering skills
  • Ability to solve problems and fault find on tooling and machinery
  • Willingness to share knowledge and the ability to train others across all levels
