Job Description

KM Recruitment is a specialist UK wide recruiter for the Skills and Employability sectors.Job Title:SEN Reading Specialist Team LeaderLocation:Centre based- Must be flexible with travelSalary:up to £35,000 (Depending on experience)Package:Excellent Holiday Entitlement, Pension + moreType:Full Time, PermanentDuties:

  • Performance management of a regional team of SEN Reading Specialists, who are providing support to learners with low-level reading skills.
  • Conductobservations of the Reading Specialist team, ensuring they are accurately recorded to enable effective performance management.
  • Establish and maintain internal and external partnerships across the region, to ensure your team have access to a range of referral agencies.
  • Creation of monthly reports in relation to delivery, quality and achievement of KPIs and outcomes.
  • Provide training to members of your team across: reading screenings and interventions; behaviour management and engagement.
  • Ensure that suitable reading interventions are in place and monitored, to ensure progress is being made by learners.
  • Carry out quality assurance checks
  • Ensure that systems are maintained and that learner files are accurate.
Criteria:
  • Must have experience of working within a similar leadership role in an Education environment, ideally having worked with SEN learners.
  • Must possess a sound knowledge of reading development strategies and interventions, including Phonics.
  • Experience of delivering literacy and/or phonics based interventions.
  • Hold, or be willing to work towards, a recognised Teaching qualification at Level 5 or above.
  • Must hold own English and Maths GCSE at Grade C or above / Functional Skills equivalent.
  • Must have experience of delivering Maths, at GCSE level or above.
  • Full, clean, UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.
  • Must be flexible with travel.
