Job Description

Project Manager Technique Recruitment Solutions are a specialist Engineering & Manufacturing recruitment specialist working closely with our Norwich based client who are a pioneering manufacturer of bespoke products and systems. Due to continued expansion within the departmentthe company have a current opportunity for a Project Manager to join their teamThe key objectives of the appointment are to:-

  • Based on the NEC3 contract (or an internally approved variant) assume project leadership for assigned projects, encompassing:-
a) The implementation of Project Charters, which alongside the management thereof, ensure that projects fully satisfy all customer, Company, contractual, commercial and regulatory / legislative standards and objectives.b) Planning and scope definition, including the definition of all associated standards and targets / Key Measures of Performance.c) Time and cost estimation (spent and to go), budget formation and adherence.d) Electrical design and full conformity to electrical standards such as BS EN 61439.e) Activity planning and sequencing, inclusive of schedules.f) Strong and effective communication and liaison (using various written and verbal formats) with stakeholders (including the client and delivery partners) in order to resource plan and to fulfil all commitments and meet all targets.g) Invoicing and applications for payment, underpinned by full and comprehensive documentation.h) Risk identification, analysis and management, including assessment of obsolescence.i) Maintain a full understanding of test, commissioning and site based requirements and activities.
  • Own, implement and review written risk assessments & method statements for associated activities, such as site works
  • When necessary, to undertake specific scalability and portability analysis.
  • Develop knowledge, which is subsequently embedded within the process and knowledge systems to continuously improve and inform decision making.
  • Champion internal process development, identifying and removing waste / non-value added activities.
  • Maintain intimate knowledge of the relevant parts of the Health & Safety at Work Act, the Construction Regulations & all other appropriate regulations. Ensure they are complied with
  • Ensure full compliance with the Companys Business Assurance Standards in all relevant reporting, documentation, record keeping and procedures.
  • Knowledge of testing and commissioning requirements.
  • Possess strong and effective inter-personal and communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of clients and personnel.
The ideal candidate will have the following attributes and experience
  • Professional experience of Project Management within a similar role
  • Demonstrable experience in the following areas:
  • Project Management
  • Budgetary management
  • Management of Engineering & construction contracts.
  • Working CAD knowledge
  • Knowledge of electrical wiring
  • Prince 2 or NEC3 contracts experience
  • HNC or equivalent in engineering or science discipline
