Job Description

Domus have an exciting opportunity for a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner to join a growing provider of care and support for adults with Learning Disabilities.Based in Norfolk, you will be allocated a number of residential services to ensure the group’s services achieve high quality outcomes for the people supported.You will develop and deliver specific Behaviour and PROACT-SCIPr-UK training to improve the confidence and competence of co-workers in supporting peopleWe’re looking for someone who can work collaboratively with colleagues including key workers to help the people supported explore and realise their potential to develop relationships, skills and independence so that they can pursue all opportunitiesIf you’re experienced and qualified in provided specialist PBS support, it would be great to hear from you!Key responsibilities of a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner:

  • Demonstrating exceptional practice leadership practitioners will support the skills and knowledge development of support staff through training, modelling and guidance
  • Be responsible for own professional development, ensuring practice and knowledge at the leading edge of PBS
  • Attend PBS Network meetings and engage in as well as contribute to training & development
  • Undertake and contribute to: functional assessments, transition planning and support, service debriefs as required.
  • Ensure effective partnership working with operational colleagues that supports implementation and change within individual services and the wider group.
  • You will ensure communication is effective, respectful, professional and clear, allowing you to communicate with the people you support as well as families, professionals, and our colleagues to achieve positive outcomes for the people we provide supportto.
  • Provide routine and adhoc incident analyses.
  • Develop and deliver specific Behaviour and PROACT-SCIPr-UK training to improve the confidence and competence of co-workers in supporting people.
  • Contribute to data and soft intelligence gathering to support improvements across services.
Key requirements a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner must have:
  • Hold a formal qualification in Positive Behaviour Support i.e., BSc in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, MSc Applied Behaviour Analysis, MA or MSc in Autism Studies, PBS Graduate Diploma, PBS BTEC Level 5 (advanced professional Diploma).
  • Experience and knowledge of working with people with a learning disability, autism and challenging behaviour.
  • At least 1 years’ experience as a Positive Behaviour Practitioner.
  • Be qualified or willing and able to work towards Instructor Level of PROACT SCIP ®-UK.
  • Understand legal frameworks relevant to the role, e.g., Mental Capacity Act (2005), DOLS.
  • A detailed understanding of regulatory requirements, legislative and compliance requirements.
  • Strong statistical ability to be able to translate and analyse complex data.
  • Driving License and access to a car.
