Job Description

Pharmacy Technician Pre-registration Trainee (PTPT) Apprenticeship posts across Norfolk & Waveney area - rotational placements - multiple employersAre you interested in healthcare and making a difference for patientsWould you like to study to gain a registered healthcare professional qualification for a rewarding career while you workAre you motivated to access a varied career pathway where you can work in a hospital, GP practice, community pharmacy, community services, work in digital healthcare and access many other opportunitiesA unique opportunity has arisen to access the Pharmacy Technician Pre-registration Trainee (PTPT) apprenticeship programme and employment at organisations across Norfolk & Waveney.Pharmacy Technicians are professional, skilled, knowledgeable and essential members of the pharmacy team who provide person-centred care through dispensing, supply and optimising a person’s medicines to achieve the best outcomes for that person. Find out more about being a pharmacy technician in the Pharmacy Technician Career leaflet.You will study the Certificate of Higher Education in Pharmacy Technician Practice at the University of East Anglia School of Pharmacy. This is a 2 year programme and you will be released from your place of work to study 1 day a week.The workplace training programme will involve supervised on the job training with your lead employer and at one or more placement providers. During your training you will apply the knowledge and skills learnt at university and you will become part of the pharmacy team delivering care for patients. This is a linked grade role opportunity starting at a salary of £18,002. At the end of year 1 following successful completion of mid programme assessments and portfolio you will progress to a higher salary. In your supporting statement explain why you have the communication and customer service skills to be successful as a pharmacy technician and why you are applying for this post. Prior experience in healthcare or pharmacy dispensing services are helpful but not essential.State your preference of employer and which location(s) you are able to travel to for work in your supporting statement.Interview date: 15 January 2021. Start date 15 February 2021.Be ready to provide documents at interview and successful candidates must supply further documents immediately after interview.
