Job Description

Reed Accountancy Norwich are pleased to be working with a local and well-known employer in Norwich to recruit a Payroll Business Partner on a permanent, full time basis, with the potential for agile working. This position will be largely office based (parking available) and will report directly into the Head of Payroll.Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintain payroll information, directing the collection and entering of data for timely and accurate employee payment calculations within the payroll system.
  • Update payroll records by reviewing and approving changes for variation.
  • The payroll business partner will assist the Business with the management of new TUPE transfers into the Group.
  • Manage enquiries within the business and from external sources ensuring an efficient, accurate, and professional service at all times with customer care standards met.
  • Maintain payroll policies and procedures. Review operational processes, initiate and manage change.
  • Studying existing and new legislation and advising management on needed actions.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies.
  • The payroll business partner will assist in accurate and timely administration of the Local Government Pension, Teachers and NHS Pension, in line with each funds strategy statement.
  • Assist in the accurate and timely administration of pension reform and auto-enrolment.
  • Assist the overpayment process, in-line with company policy and HMRC legislation.
  • Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential, in line with GDPR legislation.
  • The payroll business partner is expected to work within the payroll budgetary guidelines.
  • Assist the Strategic Payroll Business Partner in all areas, escalating potential service issues and identifying possible solution.
