Job Description

Atkinson Moss is currently looking for a Payroll Assistant to join a fantastic organisation based on the outskirts of Norwich.The purpose of the role is Assisting the Payroll Manager in delivering excellent customer service in payroll delivery. Ensuring payments are made correctly and at the due time to staff including occasional and casual employees. Process data received fromvarious sources and answer internal queries.Main duties include but not limited to:

  • Calculate payments to staff
  • Review and process data received from multiple sources
  • Enter tax, NI and student loan information from HMRC starter checklists for new employees
  • Calculate and review payroll amendments which may include statutory payments
  • Review and import timesheets, resolving any queries.
  • Issue P45s and final pay documents
  • Issue documents when requested i.e. copy payslips/P60s
  • Monitor the Payroll email inbox
  • Dealing with enquiries from employees, managers and the HR team
  • Calculate the gross costs of manual payments, advances of pay and similar payments.
  • Liaise with Pension colleagues in relation to the collection of contributions and auto enrolment of payroll.
  • Such other duties of a comparable level
Experience and skills:
  • A good standard of education with passes at GCSE at Grades A-C including Mathematics and English or equivalent.
  • Substantial/recent experience of working in a payroll/ pensions office.
  • Experience of working with a modern computerised accounting system.
  • Working knowledge of standard office and email applications Including Excel.
  • Ability to independently investigate data to problem solve.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
