Purpose of job To assist the delivery of efficient, timely and high quality business development services by supporting lawyers in the production of credentials and proposals, as well as biography management and experience collection. This role also focuses on systems and processes relating to improving our pitch process and approach and any pitch related projects.Travel to our other offices to support pitch opportunities may be required. Due to the nature of the role the post-holder may also be required to undertake evening or weekend work for which they will accrue time off in lieu to be taken back at and agreed time with the Head of Business Development. Accountabilities Pitches and Proposals

  • Update and proactively maintain our proposals content within our Pitch Perfect software using SharePoint.
  • The creation and administration of new pitches including writing first drafts of pitches (including formatting) following the Birketts Pitch Process and Birketts brand guidelines.
  • Assist the Pitch and Proposals Executive with PQQs, RFPs and ITT in relation to standard answers and maintain this content within SharePoint especially in relation to Public Sector tenders.
  • Assist with all types of presentation materials including Services Overviews, presentation materials and any leave behind’ documentation following a pitch opportunity.
  • Proactively follow up each outcome in relation to all pitches with the relevant Pitch Lead and capture the relevant outcome adding this to One Place.
  • Update and maintain the Opportunities Pipeline within our CRM system - One Place.
  • Statistical analysis on pitch outcomes for Management Board reporting purposes (monthly as a minimum).
  • Undertake desk research on prospective clients.
  • Conduct proof reading of all tender documentation for accuracy purposes.
  • Communicating with partners and BD team members within the varying practice areas we support.
  • Support the Business Development Team with Legal Directory submissions in relation to the creation of each submission and pre-population of these documents.

  • Actively contribute to the team with ideas for Business Development and Pitch and Proposals activities / improvements.
  • The candidate
  • You will be educated to degree level with experience of working in a marketing and business development environment, but preferably within professional services sector.
  • Previous experience assisting with pitching / proposals is desirable.
  • Enthusiastic and proactive with a willingness to go the extra mile.
  • Full driving licence
  • Desk top publishing skills in InDesign or similar
  • IT Literate (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database skills)
  • Sound proof reading and copywriting skills
  • Knowledge of Excel and ideally knowledge of CRM or data management systems
