Judges AssistantOur Public Sector client based at the Norwich Combined Courts is seeking an Assistant to support the courts Judge on an everyday basis. The successful candidate will work closely with the Judge and aid with their everyday work duties and help prepare for courthearings.The working hours for this role will be 31hrs a week Monday - Friday. The rate of pay will be £10.80 raising to 13.38 after a 12 week period. This court provides all staff with free on-site parking (sometimes operates on a first come first served basis). Facilities such as a staff room with a microwave and fridge is also provided.Responsibilities include:Looking items up for the Judge quickly and finding information when the judge is preparing a judgementAssist the Judge throughout the working day including in the retiring room and in the courtroom during court hearings (this includes reading to the Judge)Liaising with public parties and members of the judiciaryTaking inbound and outbound phone callsFile management and organisationGeneral Administration dutiesThe successful candidate must be willing to learn Law terminology (training and law books are provided to support with this). Organisational skills and outstanding communication skills (writing and verbal) is paramount.This role would provide experience for anyone looking to work within Law or within the Public Sector and would be great to add to your CV for the future!If successful, you will be required to hold an in-date Passport or Birth certificate, 2 proofs of address and proof of National Insurance.
