Job Description

Job: European IT DirectorLocation: Norwich (2-3 days a week) Remote accordingly.Package: Generous Salary + Bonus + Car allowanceDue to the nature of the role, salary Details have been omitted for obvious reasons (Please enquire for information)Our client, a world leader in technology and supply chain services are looking to bring on board a new IT director to control the work and resources of the European IT team to operate as one cohesive unit. Were looking for an experienced IT leader with a strongtrack record of delivery, stakeholder management and ability to set and manage a clear strategy.The business operate in the technology solutions sector with over 4,000 staff across 15 countries working with some of the world largest technology brands. The functions forms part of a world-wide business with over 20,000 members of staff in total.You will be tasked with creating a joined up strategy that can achieve profitable growth of the technology lifecycle services function across the EMEA region. The main hub of the IT team will be based in Norwich (where this role will have its main responsibility),with other teams based across Poland, Belgium, France and Germany. You will have overall responsibility for all aspects of IT management across cyber security, software development, infrastructure and application support, project management and delivery, complianceand budgetary responsibility across the European regions and the staff within 5 countries.The position combines strong technical and people management skills to lead teams of IT specialists, who manage proprietary systems, web tools and infrastructure in the provision of critical supply chain services for market leading technology sector clients.Skills / Experience requirements:

Duties include:
  • Manage the outward facing communication from the IT team with all stakeholders. Communicate progress pro-actively to all stakeholders, including key personnel in account management, operational leadership, and our customers.
  • Simplify seemingly complex requirements into deliverable segments, assign work and deliver the outcome via the team in line with quoted timescales.
  • Re-organise and re-align key IT functions to secure more flexible on-boarding of clients, better resilience in the eyes of the client, and faster, more flexible delivery in line with customer needs
  • Re-structure teams as the business needs demand, including refreshing key functions with new personnel
  • Working with engineering, develop a plan to deliver key strategic projects, then lead the IT element of these projects to conclusion.
  • Establish and maintain effective formal and informal links with major customers. Meet with the top 10 customers, listen to feedback and develop those relationships.
  • Make executive decisions in line with Ingram Micros policies.
  • Participate in regular meetings with the European Management Team led by the Vice President Technology - EMEA.
  • Setup documented objectives for key staff within your senior team. Clear goal setting, formalised at the start of the year, and execute demonstrable management cadence against those goals
  • Develop and direct the implementation of policies and procedures to ensure that the company complies with all corporate IT requirements, cyber security, and other statutory regulation
  • Pro-active development of own specialist knowledge and skills undertaking necessary self-development activities and identifying development need
  • Manage the European IT budget.
Desirable areas of interest:
  • Experience of Applications, Infrastructure, Cyber Security and SQL and/or .net
  • Awareness of H&S legislation (i.e. COSHH, RoHS and duties of care)
  • Knowledge of Business systems ISO14001/2004, ISO9001:2000
  • Compliance and regulatory requirements across the relevant countries
  • Relevant degree level education or equivalent experience
