Infrastructure EngineerThe Norwich BioScience Institutes Partnership (NBIP) has an exciting opportunity for an Infrastructure Engineer to join their busy Computing and Information Services department.Background:The NBI Partnership provides an exciting and stimulating multidisciplinary environment in which to work. The Infrastructure team maintain and provide third-level support for all core business-critical services including client endpoints and are responsible for ensuring security standards are applied and adhered to.The role:Working closely with other members of the Infrastructure team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the integrity of core back-office systems to current institute and industry standards, including security.The role involves several key areas, including virtualisation, server management, data backup and recovery and Microsoft 365 services.Your duties and responsibilities will be dealt with autonomously with reference to ever-changing industry best-practices. Application of those best practices in the multiple areas for which you are responsible will require you to have a high degree of skill and experience in IT service delivery. You will use your technical skills to advise and shape policy decisions.The ideal candidate:You will be a forward-thinking, motivated, and skilled Infrastructure Engineer with practical hands-on experience of installing and maintaining business-critical services. You will have significant knowledge and experience of Microsoft server operating systems and strong programming/scripting skills, including PowerShell. You will have a recognised IT qualification at HND level or equivalent experience.We are looking for candidates to demonstrate enterprise level experience using any, if not all, of the following:
