A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Import Merchandiser / Garment Technologist to join a fast growing brand who specialise in sportswear based in Long Stratton, Norwich. This is a wide ranging role ideal for a creative individual with Garment Technologist and Import Merchandising experience and the role may require some design input.The CompanyOur client is a leading provider of sports apparel and equipment within the sports industry. With an impressive, comprehensive account portfolio they have continued to grow year on year both in the UK and on an international basis and are making major waves in the industry.About the RoleAs an Import Merchandiser / Garment Technologist you will be working within a team of 4 to develop high quality and innovative teamwear products. This role has an ability to directly impact the business and as a result will be greatly rewarding and you will be an integral part in the growth and development of the brand. Responsibilities will include:• Working closely with the Design, Marketing and QC teams.• Dealing and assisting with the management of our china factory • Responsible for managing offshore supply chain critical path.• Ensure all suppliers meet on time targets, from order placement to final shipment.• Making sure all lab dips, trims, fabrics are approved in a timely manner and to the correct standard. Manage the fabric testing process and making commercial decisions from time to time.• Checking inspection QC reports to ensure finished products are to the correct specification.• Advising on corrective actions.• Measuring and providing feedback on prototypes, fit and bulk samples.• Contributing to new product design, development, and execution of all product lines.• Assisting the sales / warehouse departments and customers with general garment related questions.• New product design and creative input assisting the marketing department.• Other duties as required.About your SkillsThe right candidate for the role of Import Merchandiser / Garment Technologist will have / be:• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role working with Clothing – A MUST• A proficient user of Excel - ESSENTIAL• Extremely organized, scrupulous about quality and have an eye for detail• Have the ability to work under pressure and at high speed; the balance between accuracy and efficiency is at the heart of this role • A forward thinker with demonstrable sourcing experience • Excellent organisational skills • Strong IT skills• A high level of accuracy with a strong eye for detail • Strong commercial knowledge.• Able to recognising the correct priorities when under pressure is crucial to managing your workload• Ability to work to deadlines both independently and as part of a team• Communicate confidently and effectively at all levels• Proactive with "can do "attitude at all times• Available for business travel in both the UK and Europe, with at least 1 trip to China per yearRewardsThe position Import Merchandiser / Garment Technologist offers a salary of £20,000 to £30,000 per annum, depending on experience.How to ApplyPlease note that eRecruitSmart is advertising on behalf of the Hiring Company and your CV will be sent to the Hiring Manager who is responsible for the vacancy that you have applied to.
