Job Description

Our client who is an independent plant hire company based just outside of Norwich. Comprehensive selection of hire equipment and as such rely on a fleet of vehicles to enable deliveries, collections, on site servicing and sales.Job Specification: Who are seeking an experienced HGV/LGV Mechanic to join our team. Working primarily in our workshops you will be responsible for maintaining a fleet of around 20 vehicles, a mix of 50/50 HGV & LGV. The vehicles range from 3.5 ton to 65 ton low loaders. Theability to turn your hand to body work repairs & paint, and plant repairs would be an advantage.The ideal candidate will possess an optimistic attitude, must be highly organised and motivated. Long term experience within the HGV sector is essential.Responsibilities & Duties include;

  • Six weekly inspections
  • Routine maintenance & servicing
  • Pre-MOT inspections & presenting for MOT
  • Breakdowns, including roadside
  • Advanced repairs covering hydraulics/mechanical/electrical
  • Electronic record keeping for all works carried out
  • Working as part of a team with our existing technicians & transport manager
Skills & Experience
  • Ability to maintain an organised & tidy working environment, physical & admin
  • Mechanical, electrical & hydraulic fault finding and repair
  • A flexible approach to workload allowing for “fire fighting”
  • Must be observant & work to high standards
  • I.T & Telephone skills (training provided )
  • Bodywork experience would be an advanatge
  • A positive attitude & a team player
Role Details
  • Permanent & full Time position
  • Core hours 07:30 – 17:30 Mon-Fri & 1 in 4 Saturdays 07:30 – 12:00
  • This role will require hours to be worked beyond core hoursat the companies discretion
  • Immediate start date
  • Three-month trial
  • Company Van, Phone & Uniform Supplied
  • 20 days plus statutory holiday
