Job Description

Healthcare Assistant - Bank£9.00 to £12.00 per hourBetter Healthcare are recruiting for Healthcare Assistants to pick up flexible Bank and ad-hoc shifts across our clients in Norwich and the surrounding villages of Thorpe, Costessy, Salhouse, Aylsham and Dereham.The role is to support elderly residents both on the floor and on 1-2-1 packages, which can include dementia and palliative care.This is an ideal opportunity to earn extra money that fits around your current commitments and all shifts are available on a flexible basis so you can choose which suits best. At Better Healthcare, we truly believe that caring is a vocation and not just a job. We understand the pressures of the role so ensure that all of our care workers are valued, respected and supported and pride ourselves on our 24/ Out-Of-Hours support team.Shifts will become available due to staff sickness, annual leave and increase in staffing ratios.The ability to pick up last minute shifts is essential.The role:

  • Providing personal care, domestic support and running/participating in activities in a residential setting
  • Promoting choice, safety and independence
  • To support individuals to live a life as full as possible and to engage with other residents and staff members
  • Provide physical and emotional support, ensuring that respect, dignity and confidentiality is maintained at all times
  • The candidate:
  • Experience of providing care and/or support to vulnerable people is preferred but not essential
  • Possess excellent people and communication skills
  • Have a passion for supporting adults with learning disabilities.
  • Be able to develop and maintain good working relationships
  • Be able to demonstrate positive personal authority.
  • Hold a full driving licence - advantageous but not essential
