Job Description

Greenkeepers (Various opportunities available, full time, part time, trainee)Royal Norwich is a premier Golf Club in Norwich situated in 350 acres of stunning parkland landscape, with a dining experience to match. Both our 18-hole course and 6-hole academy course was designed by European Golf Design to provide every day play as wellas host tournaments. In 2022 the club will be staging the Clutch Pro Tour as well as the English Mens County Finals.The Opportunity:Whether you are a qualified Greenkeeper with years of experience, or you would like to embark on a new career with us, we are keen to meet individuals who share our passion to deliver exceptional golfing experiences. For trainee level applicants, we offeron-the-job training, along with the opportunity to obtain a Trailblazer Golf Greenkeeping qualification funded by the club.Receiving a free golf membership when working for us, a career in greenkeeping allows you to see the sunrise each morning, work in the fresh air in a green working environment, along with all the pleasures of working outdoors, surrounded by nature.Role ResponsibilitiesGreenkeeper:

  • Holding responsibility for the maintenance, care and appearance of our 350 acre golf course
  • Ensuring that tees, fairways, greens and areas of rough are given the correct upkeep
  • Mowing turf using tractors, ride-on machines and specialist hand mowers
  • Treating turf and using environmentally friendly treatments to control weeds, fungal diseases and pests
  • Renovating and maintaining bunkers
  • Removing early morning dew and debris from the greens
  • Repairing wear and tear caused by golfers and animals such as moles and rabbits
  • Applying irrigation
  • Planting and pruning trees and shrubs as required
Requirements:Experienced (£21,000 - £25,000 per annum)
  • A wide range and depth of experience in all greenkeeping practices
  • Team player with positive outlook and good communication
  • An eye for detail with good observational skills
  • PA1/PA6/PA2 with solid spraying experience desirable
  • Chainsaw certification CS30/31 with sound experience desirable
  • NVQ2/Level 2 Certificate in Golf Greenkeeping preferred
Trainee level (£15,000 - £20,000 per annum)
  • An enthusiasm, drive and a passion to learn
  • Keen to develop your career in greenkeeping
  • Green keeping is physically active work so you should have the physical capability to complete duties
  • Able to take on board information through hands on training and other learning experiences
  • Able to put learned skills into practice effectively on the golf course
