Job Description

PE Global is currently recruiting for an Electrical Project Engineer (renewables) for our leading multi-national Renewable Energy client. Role based between Norwich & Bury St. Edmonds.The Energy Centre projects have effectively been divided into 3 streams Mechanical, Electrical & Heat Exchange installation which each have a Project Manager in place. The successful candidate will be expected to work with the design team, appointed Project Managers and contractors to successfully deliver the projects.Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with design team, Project Managers and sub-contractors and act as an interface between the various Project Managers and ensure seamless flow of information Interface with the commission team to ensure electrical issues are addressed and snags identified and closed.
  • Support the PM’s and interface with the Project Director trough:
  • Oversee the electrical contract completion with chosen suppliers/contractors/specialists and ensure works are carried out correctly and per contract and relevant specifications.
  • Managing all aspects of programming or works and monitoring building progress, specified and alternative equipment submittals, compliance with regulations and correlating weekly progress reports around the electrical installations.
  • Ensure contractors understand and plan all labour and material requirements in advance, ensuring adequate provisions are always available
  • Monitor the contractor’s role to ensure the installations are ready for commissioning on the due dates and coordinate commissioning so that no liquidated damages are incurred.
    • Education and experience:
  • Qualification in Electrical Engineering/Building Services Engineering or other related discipline
  • Experience in an Electrical Project/Contracts Manager role of at least 5 years
  • The ideal candidate will have large installation electrical experience and understanding of the implementation electrical installations alongside a large mechanical plant and system.
  • A knowledge of the design, installation and maintenance of cost-effective and energy efficient systems in energy centres such as for building services including Heat Pumps, CHP’s, Boilers, Heat recovery & Storage.Pumping & Water systems etc. within industrial facilities would be desirable.
  • A background in Contract Management along with a knowledge of Project Engineering would be an advantage.
