Job Description

Our client who are based on the outskirts of Norwich are looking for a Despatch Supervisor on a temporary basis with the potential of the successful candidate to be taken on as a permanent employee.Working within the Despatch Department packing and despatching products for shipment to customers in the UK, USA and overseas.Job Activities

  • Supervising despatch activities
  • Packing and completing documentation to ensure that goods are despatched according the Shipping Schedule
  • Loading goods for shipment.
  • Unloading deliveries that require forklift operation.
  • Carrying out delivery and collection of locally manufactured parts.
  • Supervising and carrying out reprographics activities.
  • Picking parts to form kits.
  • Placing items received into their stock location with adequate protection to ensure quality is not compromised.
  • Processing orders for external manufactured custom parts.
  • Assisting in stock control and dealing with general material stock control issues, including participating in stock-take.
  • Assisting with picking both electronic and mechanical sub-assembly production kits as required.
  • Assisting with goods inwards duties as required.
Responsibilities
  • Managing your own workload.
  • Ensuring packaging is fit for purpose.
  • Ensuring supplies for packaging are maintained and recorded stock levels are accurate.
  • Ensuring that stock location is logically organised with clearly marked item identification.
  • Ensuring physical warehouse, stockroom and despatch workspaces are maintained tidy and organised.
  • Ensuring that tasks are dealt with accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring that all rejects and shortages are reported accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring that all duties are carried out in accordance with Health and Safety regulations as detailed in the Company Rulebook.
You will have good attention to detail and the ability to work accurately. In addition you will hold a valid forklift and driving licence. You will be competent in using a computer to view stock control system information whilst willing to learn how to operatethe equipment within Despatch and Stores.The hours for this role are Monday to Thursday 08:15am - 16:45pm and Friday 08:15am - 16.15pm with a half hour for lunch - a total of 39.5 hours per week.You will have previous experience having worked in a similar position.
