Design Engineer (Agricultural Engineering)Norwich, Norfolk£25,000 - £32,000 Per AnnumReporting directly to the Design Office Team Leader, you will play an active role in the Design Engineering function and developing and maintaining all mechanical engineering designs to fulfil both existing customer requirements as well as future development activity, from design, component specification, prototyping, testing and through to full documentation stages.You will contribute to the delivery of work to support both sales and operational / production colleagues, working in an environment of shared skill and accountability to deliver excellent designs, right first time. Your time will also be spent on site with customers conducting in field testing and evaluation of the finished product to inform further developments and modifications as well as new product development.Your technical skills are a given, and our client expect that you will be proficient in providing fully mechanically engineered design solutions, highly competent in using CAD systems to produce drawings and to create accurate BOMs. The Design Engineer will also play an important role in liaising between internal teams to support production and the sales and customer service processes, providing technical input as required.You should have achieved an HNC/ONC or degree in Mechanical and / or Design Engineering. You will demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to changing situations and be able to work within a changing environment. You will also have a solid financial understanding to identify cost savings and improvement ideas and a strong agricultural background and understanding.The successful Design Engineer will:
