Job Description

Our client, a leading independent Oil & Gas operator, based in Norwich, are currently seeking a Decommissioning Assistant to join theirDecommissioning team, for a 6-month fixed-term contract.This role would suit candidates with a technical background, or a legal /compliance background. You must be able to demonstrate a passion for improving health, safety, and environmental practices.This role includes general administrative support for the team including the facilitation of inputs and preparation of key management and regulatory documents, reports, and presentations. It also includes compliance monitoring, ensuring that all regulatoryand internal compliance requirements have been identified and are fully understood and are being met by the team.The successful candidate will be dynamic and be motivated to develop efficient ways to meet the regulatory challenges, without compromising core HSE values. The successful candidate will be required to work with the decommissioning team and the wider companyto ensure that all necessary paperwork is in place, and submissions and approvals are gained in a timely fashion.

If so, this could be the role for you!The role requires gathering various different types of information, summarising the information into concise reports, and ensuring that the appropriate level of review and authorisation is obtained prior to being submitted to relevant stakeholders and regulatorybodies.With exposure to wider QSHE issues this position is pivotal to supporting the team whilst enabling development towards a Compliance Coordinator role in the medium term.Key Responsibilities Include:Administrating the decommissioning teams Permits, Licenses, Approvals, Notifications and Consents (PLANC) system:
  • Ensure all new and changes to regulatory requirements are captured in the PLANC.
  • Weekly maintenance of the schedule for PLANC submissions in line with the overall decommissioning project plan.
  • Manage the completion of tasks and ensure all records are up to date by liaising with key stakeholders.
  • Creation of weekly reporting in order to monitor progress and determine priorities across multiple projects.
General Support for the Decommissioning team.
  • Preparation for regulatory audits, surveys and meetings (slide packs and online submissions).
  • Supporting the development of key regulatory documentation and quarterly reporting.
  • Facilitate team inputs for management reporting and meeting agendas.
  • Team folder and historical data management.
Key Requirements:Education, Skills and Experience:
  • The candidate will ideally be educated to degree level, but this is not a prerequisite, as
experience and the right attitude is a more determining factor.
  • A high standard of written English is required; ideally with high grades in English at GSCE and A level (or equivalent) obtained.
  • Familiarity with computer and necessary software including MS Word, MSExcel and preferably MS PowerPoint (or equivalent) and Teams.
  • Worked as a team player, working to tight deadlines with minimal supervision.

  • Open and approachable manner, with the ability to communicate and work alongside all departments promoting a good compliance culture.
