Job Description

Our Public Sector client based in Norwich is seeking a Court Usher to join their team on a full-time, temporary basis. The rate of pay is £10.32The role will be Monday - Friday, 37 hours a week. The contract is currently until August 2023 although likely to extend. Holiday entitlement and pension scheme available.To provide general usher duties: setting up and clearing away court rooms, greeting and signing in customers, sitting with witnesses, assisting the Judiciary to facilitate court hearings and ensuring the smooth running of the court on a day-to-day basis, inboundcalls to colleagues, dealing with judiciary, counsel, solicitors and parties in cases.When ushering in the crown courts, this involves dealing with jurors, witnesses, and defendants.This job involves face to face contact with members of the public who are sometimes anxious, distressed or troubled during their court visits. Please be aware this role is based within a Court; therefore, the successful candidate will be exposed to graphiccriminal activity such as sexual abuse and violence.Good customer service and communication skills are vital with some basic experience in administration. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook is advantageous.Key Skills - professionalism, discretion, empathy, people skills, proactive and reactive - and understanding that it is a professional environment and there is etiquette and procedures to follow.There is free parking on site, with a canteen.You will need to be able to provide your Right to Work, 2 proofs of address and proof of National Insurance in order to go forward for this role.Apply online today to join the Public Sector!
