Job Description

Commercial / Operations Director (Painting & Decorating) Norwich£75,000 inc. car allowancePrivate medical InsuranceOffice basedOur client, a leading specialist contractor within the painting & decorating sector is currently recruiting for an experienced Commercial / Operations Director to join their ever-expanding division based in Norwich.The Role as Commercial / Operations Director

  • Head up Commercial & Operations in their Norwich satellite office
  • Liaison between directors and sales/operational managers
  • Main filter for all tender/contract enquiries: log and investigate opportunities with the intention of increasing quoting opportunities, oversee client submissions and ensure follow up.
  • Delivery of quality throughout the customer experience
  • Work closely with Quantity Surveyors to price for works and complete tenders
  • Work closely with Contracts Managers / Supervisors to ensure projects are completed to the highest standards.
  • Build long term relationships with prospects, identify decision makers
  • Investigate growth industries, prospecting
  • Industry analysis of main contractors in our operation areas
  • General ad-hoc duties
  • Other such reasonable duties as instructed by the manager/director
The Candidate:
  • A proven record of success in a senior level general or commercial management in the Painting & Decorating sector
  • Good knowledge of the industry (painting & decorating)
  • An understanding of financial management and wider management principles and techniques.
  • An understanding of Quantity Surveying department.
  • A very high level of commercial awareness.
  • Must hold UK Driving License
  • Must hold current CSCS Card
  • HNC/HND Quantity Surveying
  • RICS accredited undergraduate or postgraduate Quantity Surveying Degree or similar
