CNC / Manual Machinist / Operator Job Role Summary:To operate CNC / Manual Machining Centres (Turning/Milling), ensuring all jobs are managed to required quality standards within appropriate timescales in a small but busy machine shop. To fully comply with the company Management Systems, incorporating Quality, Environmental and Health and Safety RequirementsMain Duties and Responsibilities:· Programme, run and operate various Machining Centres· Turn, mill and drill various steel/cast components · Overcome any tooling and set up problems encountered when machining components· Support Quality / Business Improvement initiatives· Support other Operators by providing flexibility as & when required· Carry out other tasks as may be reasonably requested by Line Manager, that are within the role holder’s abilityEducation / Qualification Requirements:· Apprentice Trained / Currently serving an apprenticeship (To NVQ level 3 standard or equivalent)· Formal qualification in machining. Experience and Knowledge Requirements:Desirable:· Safe Working Practice acumen· Manual Handling / Slinging and Lifting methods, technique, knowledge and experience Essential:· Ability to work on own, using initiative, but also as a member of a team · Willing to be flexible and work any required overtime when needed to support the businessSalary starting at £24,602.98 on day shift for 1st 13 weeks Monday - Thursday 0745 - 16.30 Friday 0745 -1300, after successful probation opportunity to move to double days 6am -2pm, 2pm - 10pm and salary increases to £26,630 plus shift allowance £5.5k
