Job Description

Are you interested in developing a career in ADHD Are you motivated and ready to take on a rewarding and interesting career working with adults with ADHDAre you eager to use your clinical and prescribing skills and develop furtherIf so, we would like to meet you!We are a specialist service for adults age 18 plus, offering diagnosis following specialised assessment, and providing interventions in line with NICE guidelines, to include psycho-education and medication titration and review. We work to a shared-care guideline with GP’s.ADHD is a neurodevelopmental condition, with symptoms affecting 2-5% of the adult population. Symptoms are severe, persistent and pervasive and affect the development and functioning of the individual. This impairment affects all general activities of living, reducing independence as well as negatively affecting self-esteem, social and family relationships, education and work, and increasing risk-taking behaviour for the individual that can impact on their lives and the lives of others. ADHD is a treatable condition with very good success rates.Since we opened, the Adult ADHD Service in Norfolk has met with huge demand and as a result is undergoing development to broaden service provision over the county. This is an exciting time to join an established and expanding team.We are looking for an established non-medical prescriber, who can work independently and as part of a team; is forward thinking; innovative and highly motivated and keen to work with this client group. We value the contribution of others and recognise the benefit of a variety of clinical experience. This role may be suited to a general nurse (RGN), mental health nurse (RMN/RMNH) or learning disability nurse (RLDN).If you are able to complete high-quality clinical work safely and engage well with a complex client group with varying needs according to age, in a confident and positive way, then this is great opportunity for you to join us to enhance your skills and develop increased autonomy and clinical responsibility.We are currently working in a more flexible manner with increased use of virtual mediums to conduct patient care, and therefore this will provide opportunity to discuss flexible ways of working and potential distance working.
