Job Description

Our client is looking for an enthusiastic and committed cleaning supervisor to join their team on a temporary to permanent basis.Pay: £10.68 per hourHours: Monday to Friday, 6:00 am - 9:15 amJob Purpose:Provide line management, supervision, direction and support to cleaning staff in order to ensure that University facilities are clean, well presented and ready for use and procedures are adhered to.Main duties include:

  • Ensuring that all rooms within an allocated area are cleaned to the agreed standards and are in suitable condition for their intended use; or where the condition is not considered suitable, ensuring that faults such as damaged furniture, lighting failures,flooring issues, broken fittings, poor decoration, etc. are reported though departmental reporting systems.
  • Ensuring cleaning schedules are adhered to in conjunction with Cleaning Coordinators.
  • Carrying out quality checks and monitoring checks, including completing and maintaining checklists and records of inspections in line with relevant departmental processes, e.g., room checks, inventories, etc.
  • Organising cover for absence.
  • Advising Cleaning Coordinators if additional resources are required over and above the current staffing level
  • Ensuring suitable materials and equipment are provided to cleaning staff and that procedures are in place and adhered to regarding maintaining cleaning materials and equipment in good condition
  • Ensuring that time is managed appropriately.
The successful candidate:
  • Cleaning experience is not essential for this role
  • Supervisory experience or similar
  • Sound literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Able to maintain basic computer-based records.
  • Good awareness of health and safety issues and management.
  • Reliable and punctual.
  • Self-motivated and able to motivate others
