An exciting opportunity has arisen within ournew caf on Aylsham Road, Williams Kitchen,for a hardworking and ambitious Catering and Trading Operations Manager to really get involved and set their personal stamp on this unique opportunity. The beautifully renovated JubileeHall aims to provide a space to welcome individuals, families and friends through its crafted areas for all including: thecommunity caf, a childrens nursery, youth clubs, a soft play centre and on site pastoral support.The community caf, Williams Kitchen, welcomes customers into the space serving a selection of fresh, natural, hearty and healthy, deli-cafe food, drinks and high quality coffee. It is a place to meet, eat, socialise, or just watch the world goby.The RoleCatering and Trading Operations Manager:Not only does this opportunity help build and manage an exciting and innovative business, but it also enables you to grow and develop as a manager and leader too. Managing the catering and soft play operations, duties will include:

  • Managing the overall catering of the caf as well as for the Muddy Puddles Nursery, events, meetings and childrens parties
  • Facilitating the hiring of space, booking of events and the community involvement
  • Motivating, coaching and developing your team
  • Ensuring excellent customer service standards and levels of communication between the team
  • Ensuring work is undertaken to budget and in accordance with Health and Safety legislation, Environmental Health Guidelines and Food Hygiene requirements
  • Ensuring all areas including dining, soft play and kitchen areas are kept to a high standard
  • Managing safe stock control and food quality
  • Overseeing the training and development of apprentices and volunteers
  • Preparing and cooking of all foods
  • Overseeing the till system and the daily cash up process
  • Creating menus and recipes within budget considerations
  • Negotiating with food and equipment suppliers
Person specificationCatering and Trading Manager:
  • Previous hospitality management experience
  • A Food Hygiene Certificate and anNVQ Level 2 in Catering or Food Preparation and Cooking Level 2
  • Able to deliver the highest standards to customer experience, staff development and product offering
  • Able to positively lead, develop and motivate a team in fast pace environment
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety, Environmental Health and Food Hygiene requirements
  • Basic knowledge of COSHH
  • Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
  • Excellent customer care, planning and organising skills
