You’ll deliver a service which challenges discrimination and values and respects the differing cultures and ethnic backgrounds of families and children.Some of your duties will include:- Supporting children and young people to maintain contact with birth families and siblings- Taking part in activities and family days out that have been organised by Regional Foster Families- Transporting children and young people to and from meetings and appointments when needed- Ensuring adherence to safeguarding and child protection procedures- Maintaining accurate recordsAbout YouTo join us as a Family Support Worker, you’ll need:- Experience of working with children and/or young people and organising suitable activities- Previous experience of working with children who have challenging behaviour in an effective and appropriate way- A thorough understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures and childcare legislation- Knowledge of child development, attachment and other associated theories- At a minimum, GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English- A full driving licence and a vehicle with suitable business insurance coverOther organisations may call this role Support Worker, Young Person’s Support Worker, Children’s Support Worker, Youth Worker, Youth Support Worker, or Social Care Worker.The closing date for applications is the 4th January 2021.Webrecruit and Regional Foster Families are equal opportunities employers, value diversity and are strongly committed to providing equal employment opportunities for all employees and all applicants for employment.
