Job Description

Process11 Recruitment currently have a fantastic career opportunity for an experienced Buyer, based at our very well respected engineering and manufacturing client in the Norwich area. Reporting to the Production Supply Manager, this is a key role within the organisation and is to support continued growth within the Procurement team. Key responsibilities of the role will include;

  • The most cost effective purchasing of materials and consumables.
  • Monitoring of stockholding and forward ordering to maintain minimum/maximum stock levels.
  • Effective liaison with Production Control to ensure material is available to meet demand and work prioritisation.
  • Arranging and setting up in co-operation with the Production Supply Manager the best possible/suitable supplier contracts when required.
  • To liaise with Production, Purchasing and Service to ensure the maximum provision for spares from the manufacturing facility.
  • To manage and order all allocated components through the MRP system.
  • Advising the Engineering Team and/or Order Engineering on suitable alternatives products or parts that brings benefits to the organisation.
  • The sourcing and setting up of alternative suppliers.
The successful Candidate will possess;
  • Proven experience of working within a similar role, ideally from within an engineering/manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in using MRP/ERP systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills at all levels.
  • Excellent all round administrative and IT abilities.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
