Job Description

NXTGEN is working with a growing Accountancy Practice based in Norwich, who have a fantastic reputation locally and are looking to hire an experienced Bookkeeper.Do you have experience working in Bookkeeping and Payroll and looking to work within a supportive and dedicated team, whilst having a varied but manageable workload If so this might be the perfect role for you. As a Bookkeeper, youll be an integral partof the team, being responsible for providing a quality service to a range of small clients, concentrating on Bookkeeping and Payroll duties. This client is committed to providing clients with the best possible service and giving their staff a work life balance,and having had an influx of new clients recently, this warrants the need for a new Bookkeeper to join the team. The successful candidate will be passionate about their work, have excellent communication and customer service skills, and is always looking forways to improve their skills and knowledge.Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a high quality bookkeeping & Payroll service to clients you work closely with
  • Manage purchase/sales ledgers
  • Prepare VAT returns for clients efficiently
  • Liaise with clients and build professional relationships with them
  • Management Accounts preparation
  • Meet deadlines and address client queries efficiently
What the successful Bookkeeper with need:
  • Ideally youll have worked in an accountancy practice setting, however strong experience in industry is also welcomed
  • AAT or equivalent qualification in bookkeeping or accounting is desirable, people who have the relevant experience but are QBE, please also apply, as this is very much welcomed, too
  • Confident IT user with Xero, Sage, and Excel experience
  • Positive attitude towards problem-solving
  • Willingness to learn under senior staff guidance
  • Excellent customer service skills, adaptable to client needs
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication skills and ability to build rapport with clients
  • Willingness to take on additional responsibilities as needed and assist with other accounting tasks, such as payroll or financial reporting.
