Job IntroductionI am a gentleman in my 30s living in my own home in Norwich. I had a road traffic accident in 2001 which resulted in me sustaining a closed head injury which left frontal lobe contusions and Diffuse Axonal injury. I have a diagnosis of Organic delusional[schizophrenia-like] disorder and Organic personality disorder. I have 24-hour support from Gray Healthcare. We are looking for flexible motivated candidates who are willing and have the ability to participate in a Back Up rota when required.I need you to be I can become very frustrated when having to wait for long periods of time.I am not always motivated to engage in various aspects of my self-careI will need regular prompting and support with this.I dont respond well to bad mannersstaff should never be rude to me and should always be conscious of how they come across when they are talking to me.If I am bored, I become anxiousstaff need to support me to ensure I keep busy.A lack of contact with my family and in particular, my daughter makes me anxiousstaff need to facilitate these visits and support me to regularly fit them into my routine.Feeling as if I have a lack of personal space can be frustrating and anxiety inducing for mestaff should maintain a good distance and try to ensure members of the public do the same. Main ResponsibilitiesAs a Bank Support Worker, you will be key in supporting adults with complex needs within their own home and within the community. We are looking for positive, compassionate, and caring support workers who have the right values and attitude to grow and developwith Gray healthcare. We are looking for support workers who are looking for the flexibility to choose their shifts and would like to join our skilled pool of bank workers. The Ideal CandidateWhat are we looking forWe are particularly interested in candidates who have experience of working in the field of mental health, including complex psychological needs associated to trauma. Ideally, you will have experience of providing personal care in a way that is sensitiveand respectful to the individual needs of the person you will be supporting.You will be able to manage difficult situations calmly and are able to work within agreed interventions that provide Trauma Informed approaches. You will have the ability to maintain professional boundaries and provide a consistent approach to support theperson you will be supporting to develop trusting relationships.You will need to be resilient, emotionally, and physically fit to do this role. You will need to have flexibly to cover shifts which would include weekends and bank holidays and flexibility to change working hours to facilitate community activities.To assist with your own personal and professional development; you will be invited to attend our unique Gray Healthcare Training Programme.
