We have a good number of developments in progress, numerous sites due to commence and a strong landbank for direct build and other contracted schemes.The role of the Assistant Buyer is to support and assist the Regional Senior Buyer in ensuring and managing the material requirements for all regional developments in a timely manner. This ensures that all our developments are provided with building materials, hired and owned plant, equipment, welfare, PPE, sundries, consumables and temporary labour to enable the site teams to build to the correct specification and quality.The Assistant Buyer will review, monitor and maintain our procurement processes and procedures. You will source and contact suppliers and manufactures, review and negotiate terms, raise orders and produce material delivery plans to ensure timely distribution to meet the demands of the build programme.You will support the preparation of materials schedules, scheme tenders and the analysis of scheme tender submissions including the cost benefit of the proposals and associated opportunities.The Assistant Buyer will maintain up to date and accurate records of suppliers, material costs and quantities and support the Senior Regional Buyer with the setting of, review and reporting of Orbit and supplier performance.You will be involved in every aspect of the procurement process and we will invest in your development and growth as a procurement specialist.The package includes a competitive basic salary, group incentive up to 15% of salary, private medical insurance, 27 days holiday plus 9 bank holidays, contributory pension scheme and much more.About youOur Assistant Buyer will have similar experience in the housebuilding or main contractor sector with a basic technical knowledge of housing development.You will possess good knowledge and experience of purchasing processes and be a skilled negotiator and able to hold suppliers to account.
