Job Description

We are working with a school in Norwich that is looking for an Assistant Bursar.The school is looking for someone with meticulous attention to detail and a keen eye for spreadsheets. The role would suit someone who aspires to progress to a bigger role.Your duties as Assistant Bursar will include:

  • Organising payroll
  • Funding administration
  • Preparing termly forecasts and producing management reports
  • Attending meetings and liaising with Leadership and Governors
  • Assisting the Clerk to the Governors (Bursar)
  • Advise on disciplinary and HR matters
  • Assist with the Single Central Register of Appointments
  • Purchasing of goods and services
  • Management of outsourced services and contractors
To be successful in this Assistant Bursarrole, you should possess:
  • Some business, administrative, financial or HR experience
  • Book-keeping and budgeting experience
  • Experience of SAGE 50 Accounts & Payroll
  • Knowledge of PAYE
  • Purchasing procedures
  • A knowledge of Health & Safety at Work Regulations
