My client is currently looking for a Software Technical Lead to join their very innovative, market-leading business who are currently in an incredibly exciting joint venture with the European Space Agency in creating a product that will be a global gamechanger, amongst other exciting new ventures. This could be a fantastic time to join and be at the forefront of creating new, cutting-edge technology at a business that has won numerous awards for enterprise and innovation. Due to the nature of the role requiringlab time to develop their products, this role will be 3 days onsite in either Rickmansworth or Madley. The salary on offer is £80,000 - £100,000 + bonus.Responsibilities will include:* You will work on the architecture and implementation of a wide range of software products ranging from simple implementations on a single microcontroller to multi-processor Linux systems providing state of the art orchestration of in excess of 500 processors* You will work on providing modern, easy to use user interfaces through high-definition touchscreens* You will work on a range of protocols including TCP/IP, UDP, SNMP, CAN, SPI, and will feel just as comfortable debugging at this level as you are at board level with oscilloscopes and logic analyzers* You will be writing embedded software in C, and JavaScript in both Bare Metaland Linux environments, but occasionally, you may be asked to look into Python or SQL* You may have experience of automated software testing and have a desire to use such techniques to improve software quality* You will look after scheduling and general management of the teamThe person:* Strong understanding of embedded C development, especially on Linux and BareMetal down to kernel level* Strong understanding of single and multi processors with a strong architectural understanding of these* Ability to debug from TCP/IP stack down to kernel level* Ability to set up and manage test frameworks and run unit testing to fix and release* Ideally some exposure to coordinating activities across the full delivery lifecycle of a product/project* Ideally exposure to Javascript, with Node.JS being beneficialBenefits:* 25 days annual leave* Health benefits, such as enhanced sick pay, life assurance and free annual eye tests* Flexible working hours* Excellent internal support programme to allow for continued development
