Job Description

Procurement Manager£26,000-28,000 DOENorthumberlandJackson Hogg Supply Chain division are exclusively supporting an engineering business in Northuberland on the appointment of a Procurement Manager to join their small, close-knit team. This is a full-time and permanent role offering up to £28,000 per annumDOE.The working hours are Monday to Thursday 08:00-17:00 and Fridays 08:00-14:00.This position reports directly to the Managing Director and covers all procurement and stores management for the business.Job Role:

  • Managing and overseeing stock levels
  • Order materials and electrical components and tools
  • Procuring PPE and site uniform
  • Negotiation with suppliers
  • Ensure that up-to-date prices are on the company database
  • Liaise with internal teams including Production and Engineers
  • Maintaining excellent supplier relationships and being the interface with the Design team
  • Negotiate lead times if necessary and react to project demand
  • Oversee delivery prices and source new suppliers when needed
  • Ensure that the pricing of all dry goods is competitive and manage negotiation on best payment terms
  • Monitor and maintain supplier performance monitors by way of Service Level Agreements and KPIs
  • Resolution of supply issues for goods, liaise with the Quality Department to carry out the process of resolving the return to suppliers / re-release etc. of materials within the factory
  • Liaising with the Quality & Engineering Department and suppliers to ensure any quality / technical issues are resolved
  • Maintain and update the SAGE system to ensure works orders, bill of materials and job costing are correctly aligned
  • Assist the Engineering Manager and Operational Manager with the monitoring of actual demand against forecasts for materials and goods.
Person Specification:
  • A minimum of 3-5 years experience in Purchasing
  • Some experience with stores management would be advantageous
  • Competence in managing day-to-day activities, analysing statistics and reading and writing reports
  • Sage system experience desirable but not essential
  • Effective communication skills and good customer facing
  • Organised & methodical approach in problem solving
  • Ability to oversee inventory, distribution of goods and facility operations
