Job Description

SMART Education are recruiting for specialist and supportive teachers to work one to one with students who have EHCPs. This can be on a full time or part time basis and flexible timings around your current commitments.This role will involve working closely with young people with SEN and their families including children with ASD, PMLD, SEBD, SEMH and sensory impairmentswho require 1:1 home tutoring for a variety of reasons (e.g. too poorly to attend school, permanentexclusions, school phobias and anxiety, or awaiting a new school place).You will be required to:

  • Build an excellent rapport with both the pupils and their families
  • De-escalate sometimes challenging situations
  • Create a calm and positive learning environment
  • Remain approachable and supportive.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of the educational health care plan (EHCP)
  • Complete weekly home tuition report after sessions that outlines progress of the student.
  • Liaise with family, YP, SMART Education and the Local Authority.
