Job Description

Laboratory Sampler (Temporary for 6 months)Location: Northamptonshire (Wellingborough, Rushton, Northampton, Kettering)Hours: 37 per week, days onlyRate: £10.50 p/hrThe roleOur client analyses and test hundreds of clean water and final effluent samples everyday, ensuring our drinking water is safe to consume.We are looing for a Sampling Technician to travel around Northamptonshire visiting or clients water treatment works and recycling centres, boreholes, reservoirs, rivers and customer properties collecting water samples and carrying out on-site chlorine tests.

  • You will need to work within regulatory guidelines in order to meet quality standards.
  • You will need to prepare sampling bottles, ensuring you work accurately, then return the samples to the laboratory for analysis.
  • This role is critical to the whole scientific analysis process and the ability to work as a team with Laboratory Analysts is essential. The Analysts will rely on your accuracy and high level of service.
  • You will also have contact with customers and will need to be professional and approachable at all times.
Experience and qualifications required
  • Its essential that you have a Chemistry background or A Level qualification (or equivalent);
  • You will need to be reliable and professional with excellent customer service skills
  • You need to be able to carry out manual lifting and will also need to be comfortable with driving throughthe day.
  • This role will find you working in a variety of environments, therefore a flexible and can do attitude is essential.
  • The ability to work accurately is essential.
  • You need to be able to work to time constraints and be self-motivated.
  • If successful in your application, you will benefit from access to a company vehicle; so you must hold a full UK driving licence and live within the Northamptonshire area.
  • Our client operates 365 day a year and you will need to have a flexible approach to your role and will need to take part in a standby rota, which may include weekend and evening sampling.
