Job Description

REED Engineering are delighted to be working with a well known and large employer based in North Shields who are seeking to employ an experienced Senior Industrial Automation Engineer on a permanent basis. To be considered in this position you MUST have previously worked in an Industrial Automation role (or similar) and have a degree in Mechanical Engineering with automation or an equivalent qualification.As Senior Industrial Automation Engineersome of your key duties will include:

  • Identifying, justifying and implementation of new technology and manufacturing techniques to improve safety/ergonomics, reduce manufacturing cost and improve product quality.
  • Designing, building, and implementing production support for all automation systems used in the manufacturing process.
  • Supporting, whenever possible, cross-functional teams in the development and implementation of automated systems.
  • Providing process capability specs for new tech.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing issues in automation cells whilst making recommendations and implementing improvements.
  • Offering support for major automation programs and continuous improvement projects.
  • Analysing and interpreting engineering drawings, manufacturing operation sequences, tooling functions, and process specifications and issues engineering change requests (ECR) to improve or eliminate manufacturing issues related to automation.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance to safety and industrial standards.
  • Working collaboratively with vendors/suppliers regarding sourcing, technology information updates.
