Job Description

I am working with a primary school in North Shields, Tyne & Wear, to fill an urgent need for a cleaner. The role is to start from 2/10/23, initially for 8 weeks, but this may be extended for the right candidate and needs of the school.This school cleaner role would ideally suit someone with experience of school cleaning. The daily hours would be 3pm to 6pm, Monday to Friday.Due to the urgency of the start date for this role, you would need to have an Enhanced DBS, preferably on the update service. (I could help you with this if required)Typical duties of this school cleaner would include:

  • Cleaning of classrooms and corridor areas, including vacuuming.
  • Emptying and cleaning bins.
  • Wiping down desks and chairs.
  • Cleaning toilet areas and replenishing supplies.
  • Cleaning doors and windows.
  • Checking stock levels of cleaning materials and supplies.
  • Reporting all defects/hazards immediately to your supervisor.
Skills and experience required for this school cleaner role:
  • Being punctual, reliable and trustworthy.
  • Ability to manage your time effectively, working hard during the agreed hours and taking initiative as required.
  • Awareness of health and safety procedures.
