Job Description

Are you an experienced Design Manager who is looking for the next step in your careerThis is a great opportunity to join a leading tier 1 well established main contractor and specialise in construction, facilities management and civil engineering both nationally and internationally on a verity of large-scale projects. They have also beenawarded numerous contracts working on healthcare projects throughout the region.You will be joining a company who values integrity and excellence, who foster and embrace a collaborative culture and challenge the way we work.The Role - Design ManagerReporting to the Regional/Senior Design Manager or department head, you will be working on a large healthcare project in Newcastle. Responsible for initiating and leading tasks, resources and procedures during tender and project start-up phases.Managing the on-site design process commencing at RIBA stage 4 & 5 - Technical Design and Construction in accordance with the design management processes and procedures.Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Assist the Regional/Senior Design Manager in discharging their tender stage tasks and responsibilities.
  • Produce the project specific Design Management Plan (DMP) and BIM Execution Plan (BEP) and monitor compliance.
  • Prepare technical submissions for alternative designs, system, component, product and or material proposals for client approval.
  • Progress the discharge of all outstanding planning conditions and the approval of all Building Regulation matters.
  • Manage the post contract change control process in accordance with the DMP.
