Are you an ambitious salesperson with experience within the Packaging or Timber industry who is looking to take their career to the next levelYour CompanyCharta Recruitment is currently partnered with a £40m Global Timber & Corrugated Packaging manufacturer, operating out of over 170+ sites across Europe, Asia, and North America. As part of a £500m global group, this business has a family heritage of over200 years and is currently in the process of restructuring their sales team across the UK; with a view of growing to £50m turnover in the next 5 years.As a result of this recent restructure and ambitious growth plans; this company is looking to add a passionate and driven Business Development Manager to join their North-East sales team within this brand new position.This brand new position will give you the opportunity to spearhead growth in the North-East whilst being supported by the Sales Manager & General Manager. This role will involve an exceptional level of drive and passion to succeed, and you will be givenfull autonomy to develop sales in the Northern region from Manchester up to Scotland.You will have the ability to continue growing your career as this business grows both within this team or across the nationwide group.Your Responsibilities - Business Development Manager
  • Home-based with full autonomy to manage your schedule, you will engage with customers who operate within the aerospace, automotive, construction, electronic, engineering, food, industrial, manufacturing, medical/pharmaceutical, oil/gas, retail, and storagesectors that have a use for timber, heavy-duty corrugated, lightweight/conventional corrugated, plastic and steel/metal packaging solutions.
  • 50% account management focused - you will be assigned customers to manage with a view of developing ongoing sales plans and upselling products to existing clientele with a view of growing existing accounts and relationships.
  • 50% new business development focused, proactive with identifying new business opportunities and engaging relevant contacts with a view of understanding their business needs and promoting products.
  • Providing Corrugated packaging solutions as well as Timber-based products for customers.
  • Ensure effective time management and journey planning to cover your area and ensure all potential opportunities are taken into account
  • Travel and engage with the team at Head Office once per month to North Shields site to discuss ongoing objectives and to liaise with the office-based team.
Your Background & Experience Required - Business Development Manager
  • Must have sales experience within any type of Packaging/Paper/Pallet business.
  • Must have a full, clean UK driving license as regular travel is essential for this role.
  • Must be based anywhere North of Leeds up to Scotland.
Your Benefits Package - Business Development Manager
  • Base salary package between £35000-£40000 per annum.
  • You will be given a choice to enroll in the company bonus scheme or have an uncapped commission structure that is negotiable.
  • The company bonus scheme is up to 20% based on the group, site, and individual objectives.
  • The commission scheme is based on a % of individual sales achieved.
  • Car allowance or company car (negotiable)
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays
