Job Description

This is a genuinely exciting opportunity to join a progressive company as they experience a period of change and transformation enabling a successful candidate to play a pivotal role within a growing team.Robert May is a family run business with over 50 years of expertise within the shopfitting and equipment industry. We are a supplier of quality goods and bespoke items. We pride ourselves on product knowledge and personal aftercare for our customers.Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Desire to learn our products, services and procedures
  • Ability to pick stock from sales orders generated accurately ready for packing and dispatch - reporting low stock and pre-empting future problems
  • Ability to carefully and accurately pick & pack orders - working at pace when necessary to ensure all sales orders are completed for courier daily collection
  • Supporting packing team when required to get sales orders processed and booked into courier system - basic IT knowledge essential
  • Supporting the warehouse team with allocating, organizing and putting stock back into the warehouse following deliveries
  • Loading and unloading pallets - handling large volumes of stock inbound and outbound - Supporting warehouse when large volumes of stock is delivered from overseas suppliers
  • Assist with load-out of all orders into vans in a safe and efficient manner - daily courier collection
  • Liaising with courier company to ensure daily collections are made
  • Supporting with stock take/stock queries/audits - Assist with processing of returns and recording inventory levels to pass to the sales team where stock levels are dangerously low
  • Ensuring all H&S procedures are followed within the warehouse - cleanliness, reporting any damaged stock and pre-empting future problems
  • Supporting the warehouse manager and sales manager with any ad-hoc duties when required - Perform general warehouse duties in order to maintain a smooth operation
    • Job Overview, Skills and Experiences Required:
  • Ability to work within a busy warehouse and logistics environment -multitask
  • Ability to carefully and accurately pick & pack orders - good communications skills essential
  • Ability to identify errors, low stock and stock queries to avoid delays, complaints and financial loss
  • Possess the physical ability to lift and move heavy items
  • Manual handling, working from heights and working with ladders experience (training will be provided)
  • Able to work under instruction, independently and as part of a team
  • Trustworthy, reliable and good attention to detail
  • Sound decision-making skills and the ability to plan and prioritise
  • Attention to detail and computer literacy - Courier booking systems, MS Word
  • Ability to use warehouse machinery - forklift (training will be provided) and hand power tools
  • Ability to travel to EN3 (Office relocation 2020), currently based N77QP
    • Working Hours Monday - Friday (42.5 hours per week) - 8:00am- 5:00pm30 minutes unpaid lunch with 2 x 15 minutes breaks. (No Saturday work unless completing stock control/high season)Company benefits:
