Job Description

Job title: Registered Veterinary NurseLocation: Harmsworth Animal HospitalSalary: £26,031 (Including London Weighting and Shift Allowance)Hours: 35 hours per week - 3 shift system including nights (7 on/7 off), lates and weekends on a rota basisClosing date: Friday 20th March by 10amDo you consider yourself a strong advocate for animal welfare If so, a career with the RSPCA may be just what you are looking for!The RSPCA is the largest animal welfare charity in England and Wales. Our purpose as the RSPCA is to prevent cruelty, promote kindness and alleviate the suffering of all animals.The Harmsworth Animal Hospital provides frontline veterinary services for animals that are most in need. Animals are presented at the hospital by eligible owners and by RSPCA Inspectors and Animal Collection Officers.Our provision of high quality veterinary care within a non-commercial environment results in a rewarding veterinary role with a direct, positive impact on animal welfare.We are looking for someone who is confident, works well under pressure and is self motivated to work independently without constant supervision.What you’ll be doing:

  • Emergency and critical care nursing, including primary triage
  • Working with the RSPCA Inspectorate to protect, treat and care for animals in severe welfare need
  • The role is focused on direct medical and surgical patient care, utilising your nursing capabilities in both medical and surgical roles
  • What you’ll have:
  • Either a Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing or a Degree in Veterinary Nursing
  • Registration with the RCVS
  • Good communication skills
  • A professional approach to veterinary nursing and clinical care
  • Self motivation and be able to manage your own time
  • The ability to demonstrate teamwork with veterinary animal centre and Inspectorate colleagues
