Job Description

Pastoral Assistant required for a Mainstream Secondary School in CamdenAre you passionate about supporting student success and well-being Do you thrive in a pastoral role where you can make a positive impact on young lives If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Assistant to join our team at an esteemed mainstream secondary school in Camden. As a Pastoral Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in promoting student well-being and ensuring apositive and inclusive school environment.Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the pastoral team, focusing on a specific Key Stage, to provide support to students.
  • Assist in the implementation of a coordinated behaviour management system, linking interventions with appropriate pastoral support and resolution opportunities.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Seclusion and Reflection Centre.
  • Support the daily behaviour referral system and mentor students referred to the SRC.
  • Facilitate pastoral actions to promote behaviour change and maintain open communication with parents/guardians.
  • Provide behaviour change interventions for specific student cohorts, fostering positive change and resilience.
  • Support the establishment and maintenance of daily expectations and standards, with a focus on a particular year group initially.
Requirements:
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills
  • Experience in a similar position utilising strong behaviour management and intervention skills
  • Ability to understand and foster childrens learning
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage sensitively and effectively
  • High level of commitment and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Discretion, good judgement, and initiative
