Job Description

Head of FinanceCare Home GroupHybrid / North London / Hertfordshire / Essex£75 - 90,000 + bensOur client is a well-established successful Care Home business with an impressive management team and a strong rating within the care sector. As it embarks on a period of growth and development, it is seeking a Head of Finance / Financial Controller (No1 role in Finance).Reporting directly to the CEO, this Head of Finance / Financial Controller role will include:

  • Working within the Senior Management Team in the business and provide financial and budgetary leadership to the care home managers
  • Manage and develop a small day-to-day finance and bookkeeping team, ensuring completion of accurate and timely month-end procedures
  • Production of key management information, P&L, B/S, variance analysis, KPIs, benchmarks, cash flows, annual budget and forecasts
  • Manage working capital in the business, liaising with suppliers, customers and local authorities and manage the relationship with the companys bankers
  • Participate in the strategic and long term planning within the business, analysing new commercial opportunities for decision-making and achievement of company goals
  • Identify cost, fee and service improvements within the business to aid maximisation of company profitability
  • Oversee all payroll matters in the business and manage the outsource relationship with the external payroll providers, working closely with HR
  • Constant review and improvement of finance systems, controls and policies within the business, ensuring the best use of Sage, the CRM, billing and time-and-attendance systems
  • Manage contracts and relationships with insurance brokers, auditors, HMRC, external advisors and other key stakeholders
This Head of Finance / Financial Controller role is a key leadership position within the business and requires a strong experienced Qualified Accountant, both hands-on and with the ability to contribute commercially and strategically. Excellent analysis,budgeting and forecasting skills are required with the ability to operate in a fast-moving SME environment. Prospects are excellent for a strong and impressive candidate. This Head of Finance / Financial Controller can be a hybrid role (3 days in the officein North London / Hertfordshire / Essex area).
