Job Description

Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for a resilient Behaviour Support Assistant to join this supportive primary PRU in Islington. This is a full time, long-term role starting ASAP for the full academic year and upon review there will be an opportunityto go permanent.The School:The school supports children from Islington primary schools with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs who have been permanently excluded, allocated a place through SEN consultation or via the Securing Education Board on a short-term placement. A highnumber of pupils here also have an additional diagnosis of autism and/or ADHD. Class sizes are therefore smaller with up to six pupils per class and there is a high staff-to-pupil ratio so that children are given the correct support when needed across theschool day.As a Behaviour Support Assistant you will be responsible for the below:· Managing behaviour and following the schools behaviour policy· Supporting students in class, small groups and on a 1:1 basis· Encouraging and promoting student engagement in learning activities· Contributing to support plans and strategies to meet the needs of each student· Collaborating with staff, parents/carers, and outside agencies· Monitoring and recording student progress and achievementsTo join us and be successful in this role you will need:· Previous experience working with children who have SEMH needs· Strong behaviour management skills· Patience and resilience· An Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks· CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible· Legal right to work in the UKTradewind are renowned for offering top rates of pay, more CPD than any other agency, great referral bonus and termly networking & social events.Click Apply now to be considered for this great position as a Behaviour Support Assistant in Islington or for more information about the role, contact Stuart Lovelock on (Option 3) /Required skills
