Job Description

Do you have a passion for working with young people Do you feel you could make a real difference to students lives Tradewind Recruitment is working with a secondary school in Islington which requires a Behaviour Mentor for a September start. You willbe supporting students with behaviour needs, keeping them on task, supporting them socially and emotionally.This role would suit a confident individual, ideally with prior experience in a similar behaviour mentoring position. You will need to be understanding but also firm. You will need to have strong Admin skills, ideally some SIMS knowledge to log progressreports for the students.Duties include, but are not limited to:

Working closely 121 in class
Providing a visible presence in the school to ensure that positive behaviour is consistent
Ensure that low level disruption is not tolerated, and that good behaviour is promoted at all times
Manage and de-escalate behaviour incidents and offer ways to self-regulate challenging incidents
Making sure that classwork is carried out when students are in the isolation room
Monitoring detention sessions

The school is a large Ofsted rated "good" secondary school. The school has plenty of opportunities to progress due to its size. The school is based a short 7 min walk from the nearest station and is also surrounded by multiple bus routes. There is parkingon site for drivers.This is a term time only position, starting immediately, until the end of the academic year, 8:00am - 4:00pm, Monday - Friday.
